Design awards
Niessing has the young masters
Recognition among the public worldwide makes Niessing proud. Jury members in design competitions as well as museum curators have selected Niessing products and recognized them with awards.
The design language of Niessing is unique. And it is understood throughout the world. Articles of Niessing jewelry have rightfully attained their status as museum pieces because they are often innovative, always unmistakable and ever of lasting importance. Many international design competitions currently give awards for jewelry, thereby recognizing jewelry as part of the contemporary product culture.
Wear Niessing with distinction. And view your contemporary jewelry where you would least expect it: in museums and collections.
The "red dot" and the "iF product design award" are some of the most renowned design awards in the world. Numerous Niessing jewelry pieces have received them. These include Niessing's first watch, the Radius 9, the jewelry concepts FormEs and braid jewelry and the Rollover rings. Niessing also received the German Award for Communication Design for its wedding ring system.
The other accolades received by the design work of Niessing include the State Award of North Rhine-Westphalia for Design and Innovation, the Busse Longlife Design Award and the Platinum Design of the Year award from Japan.
Worthy of particular notice is the copyright protection granted to the NIESSING Ring®, also known as the tension ring. Its design was recognized as a work of art in the year 2001. As a result, the NIESSING Ring® is protected against imitations. Today, the tension ring can be found in the collections of the following museums: Grassimuseum Leipzig, Kunstindustrimuseet Oslo, Technisches Museum Wien and Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.
