One particularly successful example is the tension ring, which was developed for Niessing by the artist Walter Wittek from Vreden in 1979. Recognized with numerous design awards and on display in museums in Germany and abroad, the "floating" cut diamond, securely held by the tension of the forged precious metal, has become an icon of modern jewelry culture.
